hi there i have a jeep cherokee 2001 auto that has problems

hi there i have a jeep cherokee 2001 auto that has problems starting,i have had this problem before and it has been intermitant.i turn the key in the ignition and we get lights but it just seems dead,no crank turnover,no engage of starter motor,no nothing.
any sugestions would be greatly apreaciated

Hi sorry to keep you waiting .

You will need a voltmeter ,with the voltmeter connect to the batter and you should have 12+ volts then try and start and take note of the volt reading and let me know what the reading was .

Stayed at 12+volts or dropped below 10 volts .
