my aging parents were enticed back to sky 3 years ago with the offer of a freehd+box. free installation/setup tfor 26.50 a month. we cancelled the hd as it didnt improve the picture quality. 3 years later after countless upsets with their young grandson (for whom they mainly had sky installed for) as they were unable to record a programme without having to watch it at the same time. upon my nephew recently bringing this to my attention i was to eventually get throught to sky tech support and was shocked to find that not only was my parents box not connected up to the communal ariel of the sheltered accommodation, sky also had no record of my parent having a new sky box, and eventually went on to say that it was a third party contractor that installed it not sky. sky most definitely sent an engineer who was contracted to work for sky... and sky not my parents paid that engineer. what is my stance on this as the implications of this go a lot deeper than the mere loss of recording facilities. My parents feel foolish and somewhat duped by sky and are very upset that for 3 years they have had repeated harsh words with their granson as they believed he didnt know how to work the sky box properly either.
