i have a plane in hangerage...and finaly sold it on the 13th

i have a plane in hangerage...and finaly sold it on the 13th of this month...the buyer then went to the hanger and found a lien notice on the plane...and airport staff refuse to allow it to move.....the question is....if the plane was sold before the lien notice was served...unknown to phone call or letter,,,does it still hold in uk law,,,and can they still hold the plane.....
