Customer Question

we have a company based in a serviced office run by SERVCORP because they are charging an extortinate amount of rent we decided to move we had one outstanding bill firstly they would not let some of our equipment be moved to our new office until we paid bill ,and then this morning they blocked us access to our office even though the money was paid and then at 2 pm emailed to tell us that they want the next three month bill paid of nearly 15k paid before they let us into our office ...this is of course now affecting our trade as all our paperwork is in the office ....what rights do we have and are they allowed to do this

Thank you for your question and welcome to Just Answer.

Did you terminate the agreement in accordance with their terms and conditions? Did you give proper notice?

Kind regards

we have two office suites ...we gave three month notice via email to the office manager for servcorp and one end of contract date was jun16 the other was july 20 we decided to stay on at one suite which end of contract date was june16 and asked what deal they could gice us if we stayed and we had a meeting with the office manager to discuss this but even at this meeting we stressed to her that no matter what we decided on one suite we were definitely going to give up the second suite which was due to expire on 20 july.By this time we had emptied the office. At the meeting she finished by saying that she was going on holiday the next day and for us to think about it for when she came back which was this moday.on Monday I told her that we would be leaving altogether and that I know that we will have to give her another three month notice for one suite but the other one has been emptied and I would give her the key back as she was the one who statedto wait till she came back.Firstly she denied that we gave noticein any way and when I showed her the email stating this she said it would not count as on Mon she saw me I in the room on my phone.Itold her that I went next door only to make a personal private call only and she can ask the receptionist how long the room has been empty for and also the workmen doing some internal decoration to th office directly opposite us.Even though all this they still charged us about 4k in relation for the suite which we had given up.and told us that we would have to pay the bill before we could move some of our things out.
