Customer Question

can I have a fine for shoplifting removed from my records (police and crb) as I have been found to have a medical condition called narcolpsy. The shoplifting event has been used as part of the diagnosis about 4 years ago. Treatment for the narcolepsy at a specialist centre stops the typical sudden falling asleep but not the 'absence' which last fora few minutes and are like sleepwalking. I am unaware of where I am and automatically walk home. Any shopping I'm carrying comes with me paid for or not. Where I live two supermarkets give me a personal shopper to go with me because of this

When was the shoplifting offence please?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Sorry for not replying earlier. The offence took place in January 2008.
Subsequently found to be due to an illness similar to narcolepsy.

When you say a fine do you mean a fixed penalty fine or a court fine please?
