Customer Question

Thank you,
My late mother who died on 3rd August 2012, her name Mrs,Cicely Siviter, appears to have on overpayment from I believe her pension, whilst she was alive.
My solicitor has contacted the DWP, on several occations, and the last today was an apologies will be in 4 or 5 weeks.
This is more than amazing,i actually spoke to there office on the 12th.July 2013, and was informed there are no overpayments.
Its always the same , and my solicitors fees are actually costing me about £300 per month.
Would appreciate your help and whats the answer.
My solicitor already has the amount of money that mother left to myself so what is that situation etc.

Thank you for your question. My name is Jo and I will try to help with this.

How can I help with this please?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

"For Jo C.".

When mother died in August of last year, her will, she left her house and money to myself.

My solicitors manage to receive the amounts from Nationwide (2) and Santander (1)., plus Bank account of £7000.

Solicitors receive from the DWP that there may be an overpayment due to her receiving more pension allowances than needed?

From the beginning to now it has taken nearly 15 months.

Anything else you require.

Sorry, yes, I should have been clearer.

I understand the facts. What I need to know is what is your question about this?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Why has it taken so long, and DWP, DOESNT SEEM TO APPRECIATE,

the situation.

Amount of money that mother has left me is at my solicitors, so as the solicitors have this money what situation am i in.

Thanks for the information.

The probable reason for the delay is just that the DWP are hopelessly inefficient. They are ultimately public sector workers who do nothing at speed.

There isn’t really a great deal more I can say on that point. The DWP do just plain do things at their own pace unfortunately.

Im not sure what you mean by your second point? You can ask follow up questions for free.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more information.
