In a garage block area with two garages facing 3 others and a private access to it a neighbour who was a tennant in a nearby house has abandoned a car directly in front of my garage, which means I am unable to use it or in fact open the garage door. The car is also not taxed. What can I do to have the car removed? I do not know where the tennant has moved to - I also do not know the tennant's surname nor the landlord. Since I live in Germany and this is our holiday house it is difficult to deal with from abroad.
Hello,Sorry to hear this.I assume the car is abandoned on private land. You should report this to the local authority as they have the power to serve the appropriate notice to remove the car as it causing a nuisance. You may also report it to the owner of the land on it has been abandoned or the managing agent acting for the owner so that they may take steps to remove the car. There is also a chance it is not insured and the registered keeper has not made a SORN so DVLA may also be interested. Hope this helps
