Is the basic premise for splitting assets between a married

Customer Question

Is the basic premise for splitting assets between a married couple when divorcing based on a guide of a 50 / 50 split if the marriage is over 10 years? How do Pensions get split and things like private health insurance and child maintenance if the mother was primarily the carer of the children and had no income of her own?
