hi i just want to know if the new scale of good character will affect my application for naturalisation, because i was sentenced to 12 month in prison in 2004 which is now spent under the old rehabilitation law, but the new law that came out in december 2012 say that anyone that have 12month must now wait for 15 years before he/she can apply for british citizenship.
my question is that if the new law will affect me or not

Your application will be assessed against the current rules which means that you will not be eligible for naturalisation until 15 years have passed since the end of your sentence.

So, yes, you will be affected by the new rules which came into force in December 2012.

Sorry, but it can only advise you truthfully although you may not wish to hear what I have to say.

Can I help further?
