Buachaill :

1. At this stage, I would advise you to get a solicitor to write a formal legal letter, as it appears as if the container is lost or has gone missing. In such circumstances, you are entitled to compensation for the loss of the container. Unless you know from the container tracing devices where the container has gone missing, then you will be left with a right of action against Maersk for the loss of the container. It is not a good sign that you are getting no replies to your queries. That suggests that neither Maersk nor the port authorities in Mombasa know where the container has gone missing. So at this stage, you should look at your rights to compensation.
