Customer Question

yI have just closed up my parents home after their death. The final meter readings were given on 22 March. On 24 March a payment came out of my bank of £ 40 leaving a balance in credit of £ 403.41 on 26 March. An online bill was received to show £ 289.93. Leaving an amount in credit of £ 113.48. I asked for this to be refunded and was told I should send probate details and this was done on 16 April. Having not heard anything I contacted the supplier today and checked the statment of the account. The account balance has changed from £ 403.41 to £ 290.37 without showing any reference to a bill. They have then deducted the £ 289.92 from this leaving a balance of 0.44p. I find it strange that this can change so quickly but also that there is no reference to any charges between 26/3 and 07/04. When speaking to the supplier all they say is that it was because it was estimated. But surely when I gave the final meter readings on 22 March the final bill would have shown this.
