Customer Question

Last year, I was pulled over by the Police in Luxembourg. Their speedo read 91 and I was in a 50 kmph zone. Today I received a letter stating that the matter would go to court.
This is my first offense. What will happen? Will I go to prison?

Thank you for your question and welcome.

My name is AJ and I will assist you.

As this is not a recurring offence and it is the first time you have been caught this wont be treated as a crime per say. You will almost certainly receive a fine, if you have a UK drivers license you wont get points as there is currently no system for countries sharing this information.

What kind of fine you receive really depends on what type of road you were on. It was clearly not a motorway, so you are looking at this being a potentially more serious offence and higher fine.
