When my mother died 13 years ago she left the property to myself

Customer Question

When my mother died 13 years ago she left the property to myself and my sister on the understanding that we let her long term partner live there (rent free) until he died (or married again). He has recently passed away leaving the house in some disrepair - he has made a will for his assets (just money in the bank and his car) which does not include any monies to repair the property - is there anything we can do?

Hello and thanks for using Just Answer.

My name is ***** ***** am happy to assist you with your enquiry.

I take it that when your Mother died, she did not leave a Will, setting out the terms on which her partner could remain living in the property?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards
