Was driving a 44t petrol tanker fully loaded when I went through

Customer Question

Was driving a 44t petrol tanker fully loaded when I went through a red light after 1.3 seconds. I'm being taken to court as I dont want to take the points on my licence is clean but any points on it will put me out our bonus scene which is worth £800. It would also put me the front of the que in a redundancy situation. Although I believe it was safer to go through the red than trying to stop I would plead guilty to a fine but not guilty to points.

Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will try to help with this.
Are you asking if there is any way you can do that?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes. Would that be a possibility? And what would are chances of being successful if I plead not guilty?

Expert:  Jo C. replied 3 years ago.
No. I am sorry.
There is a fixed penalty for this offence of 3 points and a fine of £100. Parliament has made that penalty mandatory so the courts have no discretion.
The only possibility is to hope they offer you the red light awareness course. It would be irresponsible of me to tell you there is a strong chance. You are a professional driver and this was some 1.3 seconds after the lights went red in a large vehicle. There is an outside chance basically because they might not notice the aggravating features. They do neglect sometimes.
However, if that fails and they go to court I'm afraid you can only be given points and a fine.
I am sorry but I have to give you truthful information.
Can I clarify anything for you?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Can you request for a red light awareness course?

And if given this course , does this mean i will not receive a fine and points?

Expert:  Jo C. replied 3 years ago.
No but if the offer is made then you can accept it.
At least you can make the request but its rare they will offer it if it wasn't originally available.
If the course isn't offered then normally it would lead to points and fine.
