Thank you for your question and welcome.
My name is ***** ***** I will assist you.
There is no issue with contacting a solicitor and requesting this information.
There is no however no obligation on the solicitor to disclose anything to you, if they are still administering the estate.
Further if you want a copy of the will it can be obtained at the probate registry if probate has been granted
Can I assist any further?
Kind regards

How can I find out if probate has been granted.?
Thank you.
You can contact the probate registry and do a search - see this link.
It will cost £5-10 to do the search.
