Hi. I recently cancelled a payment to an online dating agency

Customer Question

Hi. I recently cancelled a payment to an online dating agency subscription, who have since said that under their T&Cs I am legally obliged to pay - even though I would be paying for a service that I have yet to use (3 months in advance).
Can they really initiate legal proceedings against me?

Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will try to help with this.
If the terms and conditions in question binding you into a period of time then they do have a claim against you.
It is likely to be a claim for the sum of their loss which would be lost profits rather than the full amount due under the contract though.
Whether they will sue or not is another matter but they do have a claim.
Sorry if that is bad news.
Can I clarify anything for you?
