i travelled to uk to spend 6months but over stayed with 3months .on arrival to nigeria the immigration stamped my passport back dated it inorder to cover the period of over stayed.recently i applied to enter uk but they denied me visa and even retained my passoprt for further investigations. in this case what do i do?
Hi, thank you for your question, I will be happy to help you today.
Why did they Nigerian immigration backdate their stamp? Did you advice them to do so?
What was the reason for refusal of your current visa application?
Kind regards

NO.I did not advise.

It was refused because the date on arrival to nigeria was backdated so based on that the visa has been refused apperently and is being treated as frudulent. What do i do? any advise on what to do

Thank you for your reply.
I do not know why the immigration officer would have backdated the stamp if they were not informed to do so. The fact that it was backdated must now be addressed ie you need to speak the immigration in Nigeria and get them to write a letter stating that they made an error is stamping your passport and that it was no fault or instruction of yours to have this done.
If you obtain a letter from them , then you can reapplying using the letter and stating that the Nigerian immigration has accepted its error and you do not wish your visa application to be prejudiced due to their mistake. You can also get the Nigerian immigration officer to get the stamp crossed out and insert the correct stamp. This would be the best way to ensure your visa application has a good chance of success.
