This answer was rated:

, My son is vice president of small a company in California and is requesting that he uses my address initially as a trading address in uk. He is looking to set up a UK offshoot and wants to do this purpose of filling in application bank account. Does this in any way put my property or my credit rating a risk? I am most grateful and thank you time and thought on this.
Best wishes
Alex J. :

, Thank you question and welcome. My name is ***** ***** I will assist you. It will not put you or your property at risk personally. Under the Statute of Frauds you cannot be held liable distinct legal personality unless you accept in writing.

Alex J. :

The only danger is you may have creditors knocking at your door and you will have to accept service of official documents, but they wont be able to hold you liable company's obligations under English.

Alex J. :

If you are still worried about it, your son could just use and accountant as the correspondence address in the UK - they tend to charge about £500 plus VAT per year service.

Alex J. :

Can I assist you any further?

Kind regards AJ

Alex, If something went wrong with my son's business would it affect re-mortgaging my house. Thanks Rosemary

Thank you.
No it won't affect your mortgage- your address won't affect your credit score per say. You are the distinct owner of the property as registered at the Land Registry. You won't be liable company's debts unless you personally guarantee them in writing.
Kind regards
