Passenger traveled from Edinburgh to Tanzania, airline mistakenly

This answer was rated:

Passenger traveled from Edinburgh to Tanzania, airline mistakenly sent bag to Hamburg. It was eventually returned to Edinburgh. An item is missing from (locked bag) on return, value £300 approx. Neither airline nor travel insurance will take any liability/responsibility claim.
Any suggestions?
Thank you question.
It is difficult to get compensation items mainly because it can be difficult to prove that these items were there to start with. If you can do so and you can prove that the items went missing during the period that that
they sent the luggage to the wrong place, you may have a claim against the airline. This is because, had they
not sent the luggage to the wrong place, the loss would not have occurred.
However, in the normal course, you would claim your travel insurance item and you don't say why the travel insurance company will not accept a claim from you.
I am happy to advise further if you can provide more information.
