my brother is illiterate and his solicitor will not allow anyone present when he made his will .Is he entitled to a copy of will when he has it singed to read it to him.

The Will is the property of your brother, as he has paid his Solicitor to prepare it on his behalf.
Therefore, your brother is entitled to request to keep the original Will or if he would prefer the Solicitor to keep the original, he is entitled to ask copy.
