Customer Question

I will soon be due to apply (currently hold a 2-year spouse visa).
I would like some clarity on meeting financial requirements: Do we need to show proof, in the same way as when I applied spouse visa that I currently hold?

When was your spouse visa issued?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Almost two years ago- may 2013 (there may be a clue in my original question).

I've done my own research, and am quite interested to see how your answer compares.

2 year spouse visas were only granted under the Immigration Rules in place before 9th July 2012, hence my question. Therefore I am a bit puzzled that you were granted a 2 year spouse visa in May 2013 unless you applied before 9 July 2012.

If you applied before 9 July 2012, there were no financial requirements ( other than "adequate maintenance" ) as the 18,600 pounds limit was brought in after this date.

May I help further?

I believe confusion may have arisen. It seemed quite clear to me that as I said that I am about to apply ,after the two year visa I hold runs out, I have, in total, five years to wait before being granted citizenship.

May I point you towards Appendix FM?

I think I shall have to say that I am not satisfied.

It seems the professional has left this conversation. This happens occasionally, and it's usually because the professional thinks that someone else might be a better match question. I've been working hard to find a new professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right professional can take a little longer than expected.
I wonder whether you're OK with continuing to wait answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question .
Thank you!
