Customer Question

Hi there, pls can u help as this matter is ruining my life,11 yrs ago I was caught shoplifting and taken to court, they charged me with shoplifting but dismissed it in court and I left without a fine,I have worked for the nhs for the past 15 yrs as a senior staff nurse and only been asked last yr to complete an enhanced disclosure form,I have put off for the past yr and am now in turmoil as every wk the sister of my ward keeps askin me to complete my form.i was suffering from clinical depression at the time of offence and have never been in trouble before it after this and deeply regret it ,I don't want to writ this on form as I am far too embarrassed to face the people I work with if they knew😩....what are the chances of it not showing up?,many thanks 😔😞😣

Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will try to help with this.
I am sorry but this is likely to show up. Enhanced checks show up everything even mere allegations.
There is an outside chance that they may have neglected to add it and that they have decided not to disclose it on the basis it is not relevant but I'm afraid that is not likely.
I'm really sorry but that is the reality of your situation. Even if this were dealt with by a fixed penalty notice, which should not have been possible 11 years ago, the fact of the allegation will still be revealed.
Can I clarify anything for you?

So can I be sacked for this Jo?😩😣😔

I am not an employment lawyer and your original question was about whether it would show rather than about the rights of your employers.
However, unless you have lied to them or they can show it effects your job they would not normally be able to dismiss you.
