governance of a UK "charity".

Customer Question

I want to complain about. The governance of a UK "charity". The organisation is claiming gift aid from hmrc (it can't be a sports club) but cannot/will not tell me who its Trustees are nor will it provide a governing document. I suspect it has neither. The charity commission won't help me because it says it's the responsibility of trustees to run The charity properly in line with its charitable purpose. Catch 22 - where do I go from here. I can't complain to trustees if none exist (how do I find out anyway? The treasurer says she isn't a trustee but doesn't know who is and she can't provide documents) everyone else I know might be a trustee either denies it or doesn't answer.
I have appealed the charity commission decision not to get involved. I have also asked hmrc to explain why the organisation is being allowed to claim gift aid so far without response.
What courses are available to me? Is there a way to find out what the charitable purpose is in a non co-operative situation? Can the commission be required to involve itself in this circumstance? How can I get some movement on this so that my concerns about the charity can be put in front of either its trustees or a regulator who will act?
