O2 by mistake cancelled my contract, saying my number went

O2 by mistake cancelled my contract, saying my number went to “Migration” and it could not be saved.
After persistent arguing my case O2 said it could be saved if I purchased a SIM card on a month to month basis.
Also I was taking over my partner mobile contract now eligible for upgrade.
O2 in the end offered me £50 compensation and stated My mobile was now reaby for upgrade if I decided to go monthly, and could get a new handset.
My partner mobile also was OK for an upgrade.
In reality I can’t get an upgrade on my mobile till April the 10th.
My partner’s mobile which should have been granted an upgrade last July 2014; the O2 shop is saying not due to upgrade.
What to do?
