re permissive right of way? My property backs onto fields.

re permissive right of way?
My property backs onto fields. It is not a public footpath.
a neighbour has started using this path for his daily walks , walking directly behind my house. I feel concerned about our privacy and security as there is no fence. he is friends with the farmer who owns the field. Is he allowed to walk on this land which is not a footpath and borders my house, I feel harassed. Is there anything I can do about this?I have spoken to the neighbour who has been very rude

Hello, |I am a solicitor with 20 years experience. I will try to answer this.

LondonlawyerJ :

If he walking on land that he has permission to be on and is not doing anything illegal there then he is entitled to walk about as he wishes I am afraid. The lack of a fence and the unpleasant feelings you are experiencing will not give you any legal right to prevent him walking on his friends land, however close he comes to your property.

thank you
