Is it legal for an employer to send out redundancy emails with all recipients visible to everyone. It is an invasion of privacy
Hello, my name is ***** ***** it is my pleasure to assist you with your question today. What details exactly were revealed?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

No details of the redundancy just who is being made reduntant

Hi there this is not really an invasion of privacy it may have been if the employer had included personal details in the email such as your address, date of birth, redundancy payment etc. However just having a list of people to be made redundant is not really an invasion of privacy it is something which would have become evident sooner or later anyway as it would have been clear who was leaving and who was staying. So this isn't aprivadu issue as such I'm afraid. There is of course nothing stopping you from taking this further such as by raising a grievance with the employer but it would not change the outcome of the redundancy or allow you to make any other claim.
Thank you for your response, which I will now review. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Please do not respond to this message as it will just push your question to the back of the queue and you may experience unnecessary delays. Thank you
