Is there a trespass law in scotland

Customer Question

Is there a trespass law in scotland

Thank you for your question.
Yes, insofar as you can't trespass on your neighbours land and cause a nuisance. There is also the Trespass (Scotland) Act 1865 which makes it a criminal offence to trespass on land and camp, light fires etc.
All of this has to read in the light of the rambler legislation which allows people to use the countryside even in private ownership. But generally there is a series of laws that would tend to counter trespassing, yes, and could be used by an aggrieved party.
