HI, can a british citizen with dual citizenship who is convicted of a crime and currently serving an IPP sentence relinquish his citizenship and go and live in the other country. He has served his minimum term.
Yes, the British Citizen is free to renounce his British Citizenship as he has another nationality as well.
He is free to go and live in any other country.

He is currently serving his ipp sentence. He has served the minimum term. Would he be released if he renounced his citizenship.

Release would depend on an application being made to the Parole Board who may or may not grant release in the circumstances.
Release is not automatic on renunciation.
