Contacting the Claimants witness
I have been informed by a witness that he has been contacted by the defendants solicitors on the day of the hearing asking them questions and to repeat what they had written in their statement. This was an injunction application against neighbours from hell. The witness for us was under the impression that the solicitor was representing us. Is such communication with the witness as per civic procedure rules or SRA regulations
Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
I assume this is your witness?

Ok, they shouldnt do that. Any requests for information should be under the Part 18 procedure or ask your Solicitor.
This is a breach of ethics and should be reported to the SRA
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
