Customer Question

I am physically disabled with severe depression and have been dependant on my ex partner who lives in my home. He has been systematically stealing thousands (3k a week) of pounds from me for past 4 years despite all my efforts to stop him, but as 'vulnerable Adult' have been at his mercy. I have made the police, social services, and several other support agencies aware that I needed help to get him out but they have all failed to help or protect me. When he was arrested for another crime I begged police not to let him back, but they did. Then the staff at the psychiatric ward he was admitted to spent weeks promising to help by not releasing him home, but discarged him home without even telling me. His support workers all also agreed it wasnt safe for him to stay but failed to intervene. I have been left to financially support us both & my £400 mortage on £500 benefits a month, while he spends all is £1200 benefits plus £3-4,000 from my savings, which are now almost gone. Can I get any legal or financial recompense from him, or from the local authority who have been negligent by leaving me to be a victim? i am desperate not to lose my house!

On what basis would you argue they are liable? I realise that he has misbehaved but why are they responsible for that?c
