A double glazing agent charged my daughter £3485 for double glazing.
I later discovered the Firm represented by the agent had an On-Line quoting facility.
Using the agents same measurements the On-Line facility quoted 'prices £2034 - £2542'.
Question:- does my daughter have cause for complaint?
Thank you for your question.
There is no law that would prevent the company charging a different rate via a salesman from a quote online, no. Any quote is just that. The ultimate contract price is the price that is agreed. If the product is seen at a cheaper price after the event that is not something that would be actionable.
No private company is bound to have a rigid price structure and it is entitled to negotiate price on a case by case basis.
