Customer Question

I am in the process of sending an email to a plumbing firm that I had works carried out but not completed. They have been a complete pain & draging the work out knowing I have a deadline to meet.
I am at the end of my tolerance level and would like to know the wording that I can/need to use to give them
Timescale to respond,
deadline to finish the job and terminate the contract if I don't hear from them and not be liable to pay a single penny more to them (already paid 70%)

Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will try to help with this.
Did you agree that time was of the essence?
Were those specific words used?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
In response to your question- no but the plumber has sent me an email detailing the works that will be carried out and it will be completed by 14/8/15 and he did not complete the works on the timescale he specified.draft email to plumber - all points noted below has been mentioned in previous emails.
Hi Danny,I will require the documents before final payment is made for pump. Please explain why you made it my responsibility to tell you how to do your job! The original quote included rads, Rob had informed you prior to starting 1st fix install that we wanted to upgrade them to stelrad decor. Therefore why do the pipes come out the centre? I do not consider the adjustments a good will gesture! Please fully answer all of the questions on my email dated 27/08/15.Payment will not be made until you have completed the works and send me relevant documents.I spoke to you on the 14/8/15 regarding the condition of the rads & sent you pics. You were keen to try ato make good and do touch up, the result is not exceptable as per my previous emails. The flats are completing by the end of this week, you have until Wednesday 9/9/15 to replace rads and alter the pipes. You will be responsible for any damages your plumber may cause, therefore arrangements need to be made for a walk through to confirm conditions of the flats before your plumber starts. Please confirm by close of business today for the above. If I don't hear from you, I will assume you no longer wish to continue therefore I will make arrangements to complete the job and you will not be paid.

Ok. Time isn't of the essence then. Are you prepared to give them slightly longer ?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hi Jo,Sorry battery died. Can't really and my biggest concern is the plumbers making a mess of the brand new flats - like last time!

Ok. You will have to rely on the notice from the 14. I'm not sure what notice you want to give now? If you don't want them to return now then what are you hoping to achieve? Im just about to travel back from court so will be offline for a while but I"ll pick up in about an hour. You don't need to sit online. You will get an email when I respond.
