I parked outside a school in the summer holidays the signs

This answer was rated:

I parked outside a school in the summer holidays the signs were in order but the single yellow line wasn't even visible and the zig zag faded and as I said it was the summer holidays. Do both lines and signs have to be intact for the ticket to be legally correct?
Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.
Sadly not. It does not need to be solid, imagine if there had been road works or it was faded? If there are signs and there is a yellow line, even if it is broken, you are liable for the fine. The zig zag lines can be seen which also indicate no parking. So sadly I think you have to pay it.
I am sorry if this is not the answer you want and certainly not the one I want to give you, but I have a duty to be honest.
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
