I have recently signed a new contract of employment verbally

Customer Question

I have recently signed a new contract of employment verbally agreed as starting 1st Dec 2015 (but on the contact it said start date TBC) and have sent it to the HR dept. I have not as yet had a signed copy back from them with both my and their signatures on it even though it has been over two weeks ago but have been told all is in hand and a copy will be sent in due course.
I have now had second thoughts about taking the job as I have found out about some aspects of the job that has put me off and need to know how I can back out of it and what this could mean both in terms of financial and other aspects. Advice please.
