My brother was arrested a couple of hours ago alledged

Customer Question

My brother was arrested a couple of hours ago for an alledged 'shoplifting' offence. He is the sole carer of my elderly mother who has alzheimers, and she was with him at the time they were shopping. A police car followed their car home and arrested my brother on arrival, leaving my mother at home alone. He denied the offense but the police said they had a witness. A neighbour who saw him being taken away commented that he was my mother's carer but the police seemed uninterested in this information. We don't know where he has been taken, but assume it's the local police station, we don't know when he will be released, and we don't know what will happen to my mother who cannot cope on her own. What can we do? We are trying to contact the police station but finding it difficult to get a response. The kind neighbour contacted me but I live far away.
