My partner has recently been offered loss of business profit

Customer Question

My partner has recently been offered loss of business profit compensation from a well known gas supplier. The offer of financial compensation was made in writing and accepted in writing. There were no conditions associated with the original offer. Subsequently the Company have asked for additional information to support the claim and are now inferring that they don't have enough evidence (even though bank statements and financial statements have been produced). A cheque was issued to my partner 2 weeks ago, which he banked. The Company are still emailing saying they are not happy that the criteria for the claim has been met (even though they have paid the cheque and verbally agreed that the auditors have signed off the claim). The cheque was signed by two officers of the company! Do they have a right to claw back this compensation already paid out?

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you.
If an offer was made and it was not conditional the accepted, it is binding. There is no way out of it unless it was made in error.
It does not appear they are saying that, just further evidence is needed. If they dont pay, this is breach of contract.
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
