I'm being threatened by a scammer following the Ashley Maddison

This answer was rated:

I'm being threatened by a scammer following the Ashley Maddison hack. A Bitcoin is being demanded with threats of exposure to family and friends if I don't pay. What's my best option?

Now I have received a 2nd email, sent yesterday @3.37pm. Signed by a different persona but EXACTLY the same wording & the bitcoin reference number is ***** identical. Both emails have been sent from a Yahoo address so could be from anywhere! My responses will be frequently interrupted as activity around the house keeps drawing me away, so there may be long gaps before I can reply.

Ok. I would just report this to the police. It's blackmail and hacking, so it's an offence. Report it to the police who can investigate, if it's the U.K. You can seem a court injunction.
Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?

No thank you. I'll contact Action Fraud with West Midlands Police tomorrow. RD
Good luck with this
