I run my business from leased premises and the last lease ran

This answer was rated:

I run my business from leased premises and the last lease ran out 27th June 2015. I have handed my notice and given 3 months due to not having or even offered a new lease. Now the landlord has appointed an agent to deal with the end which is now holding me to all that was in the old lease. The total cost of the exit has been quoted at £16'600. Can the landlord still hold me to what was in the old lease as they never offered a new one. This landlord is not the landlord I signed the lease with, I believe he bought the buildings last year.
