Hi.On the 1st August 2015 I agreed to by a new type of electrical heaters which would supposedly same money over gas. When I did this the fitting date was the first week in September, it was then put back to the 1st of October and has been continually put back each time I have contacted them, I rang last Thursday and was told that I would be rung back on Monday pm this week but nothing has happened , I rang today but could only get an answer machine and I left a message. My worry is that I might have been caught in a scam.David

Thank you. I have checked a few things on them and can report the following;{C}· The company is still active however possible adverse information has been entered against its name. This means that financially things are not looking great and often it can be a precursor to insolvency{C}· Its sole director is a Mr Robin Harrison, who has one other active directorship and a few previous ones. The active one is for a company which was only formed a month ago so you could think that this may be a plan to create a new company when a current one is in financial difficulty and just carry on trading. His previous companies have been flagged up by other consumers, such as: All others have been dissolved or made insolvent. So historically there is not much positive information and the track record of those behind the company is rather poor. It does not necessarily mean it is a scam, it could be just poor management, but the outlook is not great. As you paid by cheque you will not get any protection and can only pursue the company as a creditor by registering yourself as a creditor and hoping that there are enough assets to pay your debts off. You could also report this to Action Fraud if necessary. This is your basic legal position. I have more detailed advice for you in terms of what you need to do to register yourself as a creditor in the event the company goes insolvent, which I wish to discuss so please take a second to leave a positive rating for the service so far (by selecting 3, 4 or 5 stars) and I can continue with that and answer any further questions you may have. Don’t worry, leaving a rating will not close the question and we can continue this discussion. Thank you
