UK Settlement visa.I filled application

Customer Question

UK Settlement visa.
I filled application for settlement visa for my wife, on the application I wrote that I would be traveling with her.
Awaiting decision, but it is now the Christmas period and air-fares have risen. Can I forgo traveling to Nigeria, just to escort her and instead, just pick her up from a London airport?
Will she encounter possible difficulty at Customs and Immigration because I'm not present?

You may send in a written letter to the entry clearance officer in Nigeria that you have changed your mind and will instead meet her at a UK airport when she arrives here.
There is no requirement for you to travel to Nigeria before the visa is issued to her.
All the best
