Customer Question

I have to remortgage 2 buy to let properties left to me by my late husband. the building society has made me mortgage offers which I have accepted, and have sent me notice of the new payments required. One of the properties is sold etc and conveyancing is being carried out by my local solicitor. The solicitor dealing with my husband's estate has now sent me papers to sign authorising them to carry out due diligence on the properties at a cost of £1,000 per house, and estimate this will take up to 2 months.
Is this correct?

Hello and thanks for using Just Answer.
My name is ***** ***** am happy to assist you with your enquiry.
This does seem a strange request from your Husband's Solicitors. All they would normally have to do is to get a valuation of both properties, for Probate purposes.
Have you queried what work they are saying they have to do in respect of the properties?
Kind Regards
