Customer Question

My husbands father died in August of last year and his savings and estate were left in equal share to his two sons. It was believed that there were no creditors and the money has been divided. The DWP have now sent a letter saying they believe that my husbands late father was receiving benefits to which he was not entitled and that they now have to repay £7230.80 back to them.
What should they do as the money has now been spent?
