I am a commercial landlord and have a tenant who is halfway through a five year lease.
A developer wants to buy the land the unit sits on for housing asap, the lease is outside the Landlord & Tenant Act.
My question is: can I end the lease early?
Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help youDoes the lease allow for you to end it early please?Alex

Hi Alex
No it doesn't.
Ok - its bad news then I am afraid. Unless your agreement allows you to end it then you can't. All you can do is hope the tenant breaches the agreement and you can gain entry. If you ended it early you could be sued for breach of contract and liable for any losses of the tenant, which could include higher rent, costs of moving, loss of business etc.I am sorry if this is not the answer you want and certainly not the one I want to give you, but I have a duty to be honest. Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?Alex
