Customer Question

I have spent 15 years renting a small house with ivy on its walls; each year having it pruned to keep under control and to shape it making a greater sense of privacy than if the ivy were not there.
The landlord has sent people, unannounced to remove the ivy. On two visits to the house they arrived and started work without even a knock on the door.
Can I reasobaly complain and is there any right that I have as a tenant to prevent such actions?
Advice would be great.
