Made to measure curtains
so someone came into a shop with a particular fabric they asked if it was sold there, yes it was. They borrowed the sample book for a week or so and examined the fabric, a measuring service was provided, a quotation was sent out and a price accepted by the customer and the curtains were fitted on a Sat morning. The customer was not happy with a loose thread that had happened to get in between the lining and the fabric and could see it when held up to the light also the salvage edge had been left on which had the fabric makers name on and you could also see this when held up to the light. The customer rang the provider that day to say they were unhappy and it was explained on the phone terribly sorry for the inconvienience they will be round first thing on Tuesday morning when the shop reopens to collect them to remedy the minor issues (the shop is closed for business on Sunday and Monday). It would have been a simple fix to collect the rougue thread and to remove the salvage edging with the branding name on and restitch back up.
In the meantime the customer was so unhappy they came in person to the shop on the Sat afternoon and demanded a refund then and there very confrontational. The 1 staff in the shop at the time (with customers in) explained it would not be possible to collect them that day as reiterated on the phone and someone would come out first thing on Tuesday to take a look at the issues and remedy. They just demanded a refund and left. On Sunday the customer put a negative descrption of the business on a Facebook Community group and had not told the full story, there are 84 comments on the thread and 6.5 thousand people for the town are members. The provider went out on the Tuesday as promised and the consumer is siting the consumer rights act and demanding a refund not allowing the curtains to be inspected or the minor issues resolved. Can you advise here please?
