My partner was recalled to prison December 2014, as he has

Customer Question

My partner was recalled to prison December 2014, as he has an IPP sentence which I appreciate has now been abolished.
He originally got his sentence in 2008 and did 5/6 years in prison for attacking a bully in a pub, the evening his divorce finalised. He served his time and was released 2013/14. He then went on to have a relationship. This relationship came to an end in October 2014. The woman he was with knew about his IPP, and knew that he had to be on his best behaviour or risk being recalled. He took the break up badly. He had fallen in love. As a result he left her a voicemail calling her a 'fat f**ker'. Knowing the damage she could cause, she went straight to the police and he was recalled to prison due to not following his parole conditions. It went in front of the court, and the judge couldn't actually believe the charge brought in front of her, but was duty bound due to his IPP to give him another custodial sentence. He has now served another 18 months with no hope of parole until May 2017. He shouldn't be back in prison, he really did nothing that deserved him to be recalled. He has always had legal aid, but his legal advice seems to be getting him nowhere. I have money and am willing to pay for decent legal representation, but only if a lawyer feels that his recent sentence is unjust and feels that something can be done. He has given up all hope and I feel quite desperate about the situation as I know 100% he does not deserve to be where he is. He did his time and this is just completely unjust. If anyone can and would want to help, I would really appreciate it. Many thanks Nicola

Hi Jo,Whether there is a chance to bring his parole forward?

Sorry, how did he come to be back in prison if the charge was disbelieved? They can recall on licence even for a charge that is rejected but it isn't common.
