I note that the right to cancel within 7 days may not apply

This answer was rated:

I note that the right to cancel within 7 days may not apply if the product (in this case, double glazing) was personalizes or made to personal specifications. Could this mean the measurements if they are made to measure ? The supplier, Brighter Homes, says that the 7 day rule does not apply
Hello m name is ***** ***** I will help you.Did they get you to sign it in your house please?Alex

yes; and on further reflection, when I signed the contract I did not see or, was not shown any terma and conditions. These, I discivered later on the reverse of the signed (carbon) copy.
Thanks. Under the Doorstep Selling Regulations this applies to anything above £42. This is not to be confused with the Distance Selling Regulations which now give 14 days cooling off period but does NOT apply to custom made things. However under the Doorstep Selling Regs they must tell you a number of things such as the terms and conditions, right to cancel etc. If they do NOT then this is a criminal offence. It also applies to double glazing, so they are quite WRONG to tell you that it does not. Therefore you can cancel within 14 days if you placed the order at home. Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?Alex

Thank you; that is a relief to know. Do doorstep Selling Regs to a salesman who arrived by appointment following a cold call.
Yes. This applies. Does that clarify? Alex

Thank you Alex, but did you answer my query about bespoke (the suppliers definition) about made to measure windows ?
It only applies to distance selling regulations and NOT Doorstep selling. Alex
