Are accountants in the UK allowed to give advise to small

This answer was rated:

Hi - Are accountants in the UK allowed to give advise to small businesses (which they audit) on which providers of finance to use? Thanks, James
1. There is no rule of law which prohibits accountants from giving advice to small businesses which they audit, about which providers of finance to be used. The accountant is free to recommend one provider over another. However, if the accountant is getting a commission from any provider of finance, this commission has to be disclosed to the client, when giving the advice on finance providers. However, the giving of the advice is not prohibited.
