My 2 yr phone contract ended. I wrote giving the company 30 days notice. They said they didn't receive it and want me to pay for the contract another 5 months as they still haven't accepted my termination. Am I correct in saying that I sent the letter and it's not my fault they didn't receive it?

I got proof of posting. I do this for everything as I daily send sd cards to video mystery shopping companies and it covers me in case they get lost.

I told them this also but they have ignored that fact.
I have to go out now so may not be able to respond for an hour.

You are correct, its not your fault it was not sent. You sent it and have proof of posting. Unless their terms say it has to be posted in any particular way (ie recorded delivery) then its not your problem.
