i have a hedge that is dead and needs to come out, my neighbour owns the bank behind with a hedge on top, the bank is very loose therefore when I remove my hedge the bank could subside into my garden am I liable for this as I have removed the dead hedge?

My neighbour has been to a solicitor and is threatening legal action if the bank subsides

Hello my name is ***** ***** I will help you with this.

Will you do this yourself or get a contractor in please?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
This is being done by a contractor

Ok - then you would be liable if there was subsidence. This is because your (or contractors) actions would have done this. So you would be liable. The contractor needs to take steps to ensure that it does not, but then if it does subside you (or contractor) would be responsible for reinstating it back to how it was.

Can I clarify anything for you about this today please?
